Commercial pools: maintenance and compliance

Maintenance, water testing and compliance testing for condominiums, hotels, recreation centres and other facilities.

The service

A shared pool isn't maintained like a backyard pool

Rooftop terrace with a pool and spa under construction, technician at work, city view

Changing traffic, heavy bather loads, hard-working equipment: a pool in a building or facility calls for more rigour. In Quebec, its water quality is also governed by regulation.

We maintain pools and spas, test and balance the water, check the systems and perform Q-2, r. 39 compliance testing, with documented follow-up.

  • Condominiums and property managers

Scheduled maintenance and recorded results to share with the board.

  • Hotels and accommodations

Clean pools and balanced water, even when occupancy varies.

  • Recreation centres, commercial and institutional facilities

High-traffic facilities that call for rigorous testing.

Frequently asked questions

Is our pool covered by Q-2, r. 39?

The regulation applies to pools open to the public in Quebec: hotel, recreation-centre and other facility pools and spas generally fall under it, as do many shared condominium pools. A private pool at a single-family home does not; if in doubt, the text of the regulation is the authority.

If we hire Piscines AB, are we relieved of compliance?

No: responsibility for monitoring stays with the operator. What we bring is testing done properly, regular maintenance and documented follow-up.

How often does the water need testing?

It depends on the pool, how busy it is and the requirements that apply. We set up a schedule with you that fits your facility.

Do you serve facilities on the Ontario side?

Yes. Q-2, r. 39 applies in Quebec; in Ontario, we adapt the follow-up to the applicable requirements.

What if there's a problem between visits?

Emergency calls are part of the service: for cloudy water, an equipment failure or an abnormal test result, call us.
